SJVN Limited’s board approved the merger of its thermal power subsidiary STPL to streamline operations and increase managerial efficiency.

This merger involves integrating all the activities, including STPL’s 1,320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Plant located in Bihar. The merger proposal is dependent upon approval by the Government of India and all other competent bodies.

According to the organization, retaining STPL as a stand-alone body is not serving any further useful purpose. By amalgamation, SJVN intends to streamline its organizational setup and enhance synergy within its operational framework.

The Merger involves integrating the business activity of STPL directly into SJVN Limited, elimination of duplicity of administrative and operational functions, reduced cost of administration and compliance requirements, efficient utilization of management, organizational and operational resources, and improved efficiency levels.
