The government has increased prices of 19-kg commercial Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders and five-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders, also known as chotu or mini cylinders, by ₹993 and ₹261 respectively, ANI reports.

After the price increase, a commercial LPG cylinder will be available for ₹3,071.50 in Delhi, and ₹3,024 in Mumbai. The mini domestic cylinders will be available for around Rs 339 in Delhi.

The price hike comes after last month’s price increase, as state-owned oil companies increased their prices.

The increase in the 19 kg cylinder is expected to impact restaurants, hotels, bakeries and other establishments, as they are dependent on commercial LPG for daily operations. As the industry tend to pass on the increased cost to consumers, the prices of food and dining may be increased.
