HPCL has said that it has delivered Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) supplies to 9.13 crore customers nationwide and delivered 432.82 lakh domestic LPG cylinders through its network of 6,229 distributors and delivery personnel, between May 1 and June 7.
The company has added that it offered special consideration to beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), making sure that the most economically vulnerable households were not the first to suffer during the LPG supply crunch.
It served 2.80 crore PMUY customers and delivered 101.07 lakh refill cylinders. HPCL has also ran 1,622 Free Trade LPG (FTL) camps and distributed 8.62 lakh cylinders, specifically reaching smaller households and first-time LPG users.
Since 54 percent of the LPG supply of India is shipped via the Strait of Hormuz, the ongoing blockage has interrupted global LPG logistics leading to significant challenges. Yet HPCL managed uninterrupted supplies through stronger domestic coordination across sourcing, bottling plants, distribution points and last mile delivery networks to ensure seamless operations.
