Sahaj Solar has stated that it has considered and approved establishment of a new manufacturing facility for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), with a production and storage capacity of 1.8 GWh, at Dakor, Gujarat. Designed to serve both local and global markets, this facility aligns with a broader trend of solar companies expanding into battery manufacturing primarily focusing on assembly work similar to solar modules.

Over the next 12 months, the company plans to add this capacity with an estimated investment of ₹25 crore, financed via debt and internal accruals.

Furthermore, the company earmarked Dakor, in Gujarat's Kheda district, in late 2025 for the development of a 1,500 MW (1.5 GW) solar PV module manufacturing facility as part of its expansion plans.

For Sahaj Solar, moving into BESS assembly might involve relatively smaller capital expenditure, enabling the company to capitalize on its local market presence.
