India's largest power generation company NTPC is discussing sales deals for green ammonia fuel and others with Japanese, South Korean and German buyers, according to Gurdeep Singh, chairman of the corporation.

India plans to position itself as a significant producer of green hydrogen as well, despite challenges faced globally in reaching offtake agreements necessary to facilitate major investments.

NTPC is negotiating potential sales partnerships amid its planned development of a green hydrogen hub facility in India's southern state of Andhra Pradesh, Singh added at an Indian Chamber of Commerce conference.

The initiative will focus on developing green ammonia and methanol fuels rather than green hydrogen since they prove easier to transport.
