NTPC Ltd has appointed Surya Narayan Panigrahi as Executive Director (Human Resources) of its northern region headquarters effective June 8, 2026. While Panigrahi will be leading the HR for the northern region, the company’s HR function for southern region will be continued to be overseen by him.
Panigrahi has been working in the country’s largest state-owned power generation company for over 36 years and has experience across multiple areas of human resource management. This includes recruitment, training and development, industrial relations, employee, welfare, administration, security, CSR and HR digitalisation.
He has held multiple key positions, such as Head of HR at Tanda Super Thermal Power Station and Regional Head of HR for NTPC’s southern region. Later, he was entrusted with additional responsibilities for the HR function at the northern region headquarters.
