Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has announced that it has secured a contract with Nigerian Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise (DPRPFZE) worth about ₹2,000–2,500 crore.
Under the contract, BHEL will design, manufacture, supply and supervise erection and commissioning of eight gas turbine generator packages for DPRPFZE. However, the agreement does not include civil works to be carried out by BHEL. The upcoming units will be at a petroleum refinery and polypropylene plant in the Dangote Industries Free Zone in Nigeria.
The agreement, signed on Tuesday, requires the Maharatna company to complete the project within 24 months from the effective date. This international order will strengthen the engineering giant’s overseas footprint and its future growth.
