THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) has appointed Ajay Verma as Executive Director on Tuesday. Earlier, he worked as Executive Director/Head of Project of the 444 MW Vishnugad-Pipalkoti Hydro Electric Project (VPHEP) from 2023.
With his latest appointment he will direct and oversee THDCIL’s hydro-thermal project portfolio, across both ongoing/under-construction and commissioned projects.
Verma is a seasoned civil engineering professional who brings more than 38 years of rich post-graduation experience. He is an alumnus of MS Ramaiah College, Bengaluru with a Bachelor's degree. Later, he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Construction Management from Delhi Productivity Council, New Delhi, in 1998, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management from IIM Indore in 2015.
Verma came onboard THDC India Limited on July 30, 1990 as an Engineer (Trainee) and has since built a distinguished career spanning over 30 years. He has contributed across key functional areas such as Rehabilitation, Construction, Corporate Contracts, Vigilance, Spillway works of Tehri Dam, and Planning & Quality Control of Koteshwar Dam.
He is expected to bring a comprehensive understanding of large infrastructure projects to his new role with his extensive experience spanning project execution, construction management, contracts, planning, quality control and commissioning.
