The Odisha state government has signed 18 MoUs worth ₹1.17 crore in investments in the area of renewable energy, which includes an additional installed capacity of 11,742 MW. This clearly reflects Odisha’s strategy to position itself among the topmost states when it comes to becoming a hub for renewable energy in India.

The MoUs were signed during the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 held in New Delhi on Tuesday in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Both Majhi and Deo inaugurated two pavilions at the conference – the Odisha Pavilion and the Netherlands Pavilion.

These investments will cover various new-age categories of clean energy such as pumped storage, solar and wind energy, hybrid renewable energy projects, battery energy storage systems, green hydrogen, and green data centers.

As per a post made by the office of the Chief Minister on X, these upcoming projects will help enhance the renewable energy landscape in the state.
