India pitched itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing clean energy markets at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, with Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi calling on global investors to partner in the country’s expanding renewable and energy infrastructure ecosystem.
Speaking at a session on resilient infrastructure, Joshi said the global energy transition requires systems that are scalable, resilient and investment-ready, and highlighted India’s experience in combining large-scale deployment with grid stability.
He said India has achieved 267 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity as of December 2025 and remains on track to meet its 2030 targets, supported by domestic manufacturing, grid modernisation, energy storage deployment and emerging frameworks for geothermal and nuclear energy.
Addressing a roundtable on delivering sustainability at scale, the minister said sustainability has moved to the core of economic growth and competitiveness. He reiterated India’s commitment to Net Zero emissions by 2070, guided by the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ — One Earth, One Family, One Future.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Joshi held bilateral discussions with officials and industry leaders from Oman, Belgium and Kuwait, focusing on cooperation in renewable manufacturing, green hydrogen, energy storage and integrated clean energy projects.
The minister also met global investors including La Caisse and Ingka Group (IKEA), encouraging them to expand clean energy investments in India across solar, wind and hybrid solutions.
